How the Pregnancy Calculator Works
AnyTool Pregnancy Calculator estimates the due date and gestational age in the browser using a pure, clock-free engine that resolves every dating method down to a single effective last menstrual period (LMP). The last-period method applies Naegele’s rule — EDD = LMP + 280 days (40 weeks), equivalent to adding a year, subtracting three months and adding seven days — and shifts the timeline by (cycle length − 28) days when the cycle is not the standard 28 days. A conception or ovulation date is dated as LMP + 14, an IVF day-5 blastocyst transfer sets EDD = transfer + 261 days and a day-3 cleavage transfer EDD = transfer + 263 days, a known due date is reversed by 280 days, and an ultrasound back-dates the LMP from the gestational age it measured. From the effective LMP the engine derives the due date, the current gestational age in completed weeks and days, the trimester, the estimated conception date, the days remaining and a percent of the 280-day term complete.
