Each book sits on a shelf. While a book is on the Currently reading shelf you log the page you’re on and the card shows a progress bar equal to current page divided by total pages, clamped between 0% and 100%. When you move a book to the Finished shelf the tool stamps a finish date from your device clock and snaps the current page to the total, and that book then counts toward your yearly reading challenge — a progress ring that shows books finished this year against your target. All of this is computed in your browser.

Set a target — say 12, 24 or 52 books — for the current year. A progress ring fills as you finish books, counting every book on the Finished shelf whose finish date falls within the goal’s year. Summary stats alongside it report books read this year, total pages read (finished books plus pages logged on in-progress books), your average star rating across rated books and a breakdown of finished books by genre. The year is read from your device clock, and the target can be edited at any time.

AnyTool’s Reading Tracker is 100% client-side. Every book — its shelf, page progress, rating, notes, dates and your yearly goal — lives in this browser’s localStorage and never leaves your device. There is no sign-in, no server, no friends feed and no analytics, and the tool keeps working offline once cached. Because the data is tied to this browser, opening the tool elsewhere starts fresh and clearing browser data erases your library, so use Export JSON to keep a backup or move to another device.

Use Export JSON to download a file containing all of your books — shelf, page progress, rating, notes and dates — together with your yearly reading goal. To restore or move to another browser or device, use Import JSON and choose to replace your current list or merge the imported books alongside the ones you have. Because there is no cloud sync, exporting regularly is the way to keep a backup; the file stays on your device unless you move it yourself.
