How the Shoe Size Converter Works
AnyTool Shoe Size Converter is chart-based rather than formula-based, because the US, UK and EU number lines start at different offsets and step differently, and the scales themselves differ for men, women and children. The tool stores real conversion rows for each of three categories — men, women and kids — and uses foot length in centimetres as the anchor. When you enter a size in any system it locates the matching row, converts to a foot length, then maps that length to every other system; values between listed sizes are interpolated. Japan uses the Mondopoint centimetre scale, EU follows the Paris-point scale (about two-thirds of a centimetre per size), and Australian sizing rides on the UK scale for men and kids and the US scale for women.
- Six systems: US, UK, EU, CM (foot length), Japan and Australia
- Separate real charts for men, women and kids — they differ
- Foot length in centimetres is the brand-independent anchor
- In-between sizes are interpolated through the CM column
- All conversion runs in the browser — no server round-trip
